Works to repair and seal the previously unsealed section of Ridge Road down to the wharf, and the wharf carpark, have finally been completed. This means that negotiating potholes and loose metal on this section of the road is now a thing of the past. In addition to traction sealing on the road, the project has also included drainage improvements which are aimed at reducing the amount of sediment entering the harbour after rain events.
MERRA would like to acknowledge Auckland Transport (AT), the Rodney Local Board and the Mahurangi Land Restoration Project for their efforts in making this happen, and Mason Contractors for undertaking the work. We are also pleased to note that MERRA’s efforts to ensure that the carpark was sealed at the same time as the road improvements have been successful.
