For Scott Point in the Mahurangi East Regional Park, the new rules allow dogs on the beach and in the park provided that they are under control and on a leash at all times. These rules apply throughout the year; there are no longer any seasonal or time restrictions, but please make sure your dog remains on-leash at all times.
Note that dogs are not permitted within the fenced area of Scott Homestead, nor at Ferguson House and Baileys Cottage. The Department of Conservation also prohibits dogs on the adjacent Mahurangi Scenic Reserve and Casnell Island.
