Scotts Landing

Our friends at the Forest Bridge Trust are running free Kiwi Avoidance Training (KAT) sessions across Rodney in November and December.

If you have a dog and live or work near kiwi habitats, you can help safeguard our growing kiwi populations by joining one of the free KAT sessions.

Event Dates & Locations:
๐Ÿ“ Sunday, 3rd November โ€“ Matakana Country Park
๐Ÿ“ Saturday, 7th December โ€“ Morris & James Pottery (Tongue Farm Road)
๐Ÿ“ Sunday, 8th December โ€“ Matakana Country Park

๐Ÿ•˜ Time: 9 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM

An experienced trainer will guide you and your dog through a 10-minute training session using an e-collar to teach your dog to avoid the scent of kiwi. While KAT is a useful tool, it’s not foolproofโ€”dogs should remain on a leash in known kiwi areas at all times.
