2019 community cleanup – Sunday 3 November at 9 am
Each year, MERRA organise a cleanup of the peninsular – rubbish picked up from road-sides and beaches. It’s not that we are overly a littering community, but each 12-month period, residents gather up what has escaped from litter bins, what has been wind or sea borne and perhaps what has been carelessly cast out of visiting cars.
Our next cleanup is Sunday 3 November. David Legg and Judith Nye are organisers-in-chief and we are asked to congregate at the bus shelter corner of Charles and Ridge. We will be allocated an area (usually in pairs or family groups) to tidy and provided with a rubbish bag and directions on where to leave your bag when done.
A hi-viz vest and gloves are recommended.
Come and support this event to help maintain the beauty of our peninsular and help protect the wildlife
